|The majority of the resorts in Victoria are north of Melbourne. The exception is Mt Baw Baw, a small friendly resort to the east of Melbourne. Mt Hotham and Falls Creek are high in the Victoria Alpines and offer the most extensive terrain for all standards. Mount Buller is closer and an easy drive from Melbourne and also has varied trails, including 3 terrain parks.|
Mount Hotham is high in the Victorian alps and is a unique Victorian snow destination because the town is at the top of all the resorts ski area! This does give the majority of the accommodation great views throughout the mountains. The terrain is varied and all abilities we find a favourite trail. After fresh south the north side of the valley is excellent steep powder skiing and snowboarding. The fun don't stop on the slopes with a great Apres atmosphere during the evening.
A beautiful wide open ski area and pedestrian village with accommodation throughout the trees making it a romantic destination. The trails are wide and cruisy perfect for beginners and intermediate riders. Advanced riders will enjoy the massive terrain park. The picturesque resort is finished off whilst skiing over the back overlooking the lake.
Off the Victorian Alps ski resorts Mt Buller is 2 hours closer to Melbourne than either Mt Hotham or Falls Creek, making it just a 3 hour drive, an easy weekend away or even snick up for a day. With no cars in the village and all ski in ski out accommodation making it picturesque. Mt Buller has heaps of wide open groomed trails for beginners and intermediates. Advanced riders are no forgotten, Mt Buller does not groom every trail leave more than enough bumps, moguls and off piste to keep you occupied
Ski club heaven. A large majority of Melbourne ski clubs have lodges here in Mount Baw Baw. Since it is only a couple of hours east of Melbourne it is very accessable. A small area 30 hectares and six lifts you will really feel the village community riding here.
