Tortoise and the hare

Tortoise and the hare

That age old story of the tortoise and the hare could not be more true this season in Australia.  At Click4snow we have been looking at the snow depth charts produced by the Snowy Hydro and we have compared 2001, 2005 and 2010.  I spent 05 at Perisher and it was a great season with the majority of the resort open and great snow but the depth never got above 150cm.  2001 of the other hand was a late starter but peaked at 200cm and 2010 seems to be following!

Forecast

It's been snowing across all of Australia today and more is due tomorrow. The charts below show the next storm rolling in with snow falls due Sunday and Monday 4 to 8cm.

NZ is struggling this week with a mixed bag of snow, sleet and rain due throughout the week.  However, with current snow depths 90 to 230cm it's not going to do much harm and snow will return soon.
