Whichever way you decide to come to the snow, we are happy to help you organise and plan your trip.

There are many travel options available with self drive being the most common. Travelling by plane or hiring a car is also possible.

Self Drive
Selwyn Snowfields is an easy 2.5 hour drive from Canberra, 5 hour drive from Sydney and a 7 hour drive from Melbourne. Most accommodation properties are within a 35 minute drive from Selwyn Snowfields and will most likely be on your way depending on where you are travelling from.

If you are driving, make sure you know the current road status. Signs are generally on display by the road side giving updates on road conditions and you can also tune into the local radio station 97.7fm to hear the RTA road reports every hour. Please note that snow chains are a legal requirement for 2WD cars travelling in the Snowy Mountains during June to September inclusive. You can hire these from most service stations in the Snowy Mountains, if you are unsure how to use these, ask the attendant to give you a demonstration.

Plane
You have the option to fly into Canberra or Cooma.
Canberra Airport major air carriers include Qantas, Virgin Blue, Tiger Airways & Brindabella Airlines.
Aeropelican is currently the only carrier that flys into the Snowy Mountains Airport at Cooma.

Hire Car
We can organise car hire for you with pickups from either the Canberra Airport or the Snowy Mountains Airport.
