Karelia Alpine Lodge is a 4 star rated Austrian - Swiss chalet in Falls Creek and can accommodate 45 guests in well appointed rooms, with full ensuite facilities, some rooms with balcony and all with T.V. The living area and guest room facilities are upgraded on a year to year basis. The chalet has two restaurants. Upstairs in the guest restaurant, dinners will receive a hearty 4 course meal (menu changes daily). Downstairs is the popular J.B's Restaurant offering authentic signature dishes such as Swiss style fondues (meat, cheese and chocolate), Czech style sirloin roast with dumplings, Hungarian goulash with dumplings, Austrian apple strudel just to mention a few.

The lodge is located on the highest grounds in Falls Creek and next to Bilia Bullet chair lift, Wombat Ramble Home Trail and also the Aquaduct Home Trail, so it is easy to ski to the chair lift and also to ski back to the lodge front door.

The Karelia Alpine Lodge is a perfect place for a romantic weekend (honeymoon room) or the annual family ski holiday. The family rooms and penthouse boast two inter-connecting rooms.All rooms at Karelia have full ensuite (including electric heated towel rail & hair dryer) and are furbished with hand crafted timber furniture including radio, cassette deck and T.V. (3 channels with free in-house movies) and a bar fridge.  All rooms have a full ensuite, linen & towels supplied.
Our house guests are advised to bring their own beach towel (for hot spa and sauna).

Penthouse - top of the chalet, Two interconnecting rooms:
Main room has double bed, T.V, Video-DVD, mini bar, radio-alarm clock, full ensuite (bath & shower) and balcony. Second room has two sets of bunk beds, T.V., full bathroom (with shower).

Family room
Two interconnecting rooms. Main room has double bed T.V., Video, mini bar and radio-Alarm clock. Second room has one set bunk beds and two single beds, T.V., balcony and full ensuite.

Six share room - has one double bed and two sets of bunk beds, T.V., mini bar, radio-alarm clock and full ensuite. This is a large room and has a sofa bed that can be turned into another double bed (can sleep up to eight people).

Four share room has two sets of bunk beds or one queen size bed and one set of bunk beds. The room has - T.V., mini bar, radio-alarm clock and full ensuite. (can sleep up to four people).

By Road
Falls Creek is the closest alpine resort to Brisbane, an easy day's drive from Sydney & four and a half hours drive from Melbourne. There are lots of options to get to Falls from driving all or part of the way to letting someone else take care of that for you. Carrying snow chains is compulsory during the snow season and can be hired at several outlets in Mt. Beauty.

No petrol is available at Falls Creek so make sure you fill up before you come up. In winter, diesel vehicles should fill up with Alpine Diesel from Mt Beauty or other local suppliers to ensure their vehicle works correctly in the cold conditions.

Drivers should also check at the local service stations their anti-freeze levels. This can be done with a 'Glycometer' and may save you a lot of time and money.

Oversnow Transport
If you are going to be using Oversnow Transport to get to your accommodation, be aware that Friday nights and Sunday afternoons are the busiest times for these services and regularly incur waiting in excess of one hour.

If you can avoid these peak times at Oversnow Transport by arriving Sunday morning or Friday throughout the afternoon before the service really gets busy you will enjoy a much smoother transfer experience. Travelling on other days may also be an option if they can match with your accommodation.

Most for the accommodation has no parking, and you will have to use oversnow transport, please check when booking.

As you drive into Falls Creek can drop off your luggage and passengers at the Oversnow transport terminal (on the left as you drive in).

You will then be guided by resort staff on which car park to use.
