Description
The Black Bear Inn is a Tyrolean style lodge located in the heart of Thredbo with great traditional Austrian/German character. The Bear is Thredbo's most famous ski lodge and all of the guest's rooms have a spectacular view and provide a great vantage point to watch the skiing action at Thredbo as well as the magnificent sunsets.
Guest guest's rooms are serviced and have ensuite, tea and coffee making facilities, and colour television to make your stay even more relaxed. Ski and Boot drying lockers are provided so that guest's rooms are not cluttered with unnecessary ski gear lying around.
The Black Bear is situated right in the heart of Thredbo Alpine Village and guests only have a short walk to the shops and other village amenities. The ski lifts are also just a short walk away so no time is lost travelling.
Open from 5.00 pm till late for house guests and the general public the Black Bear's restaurant has an atmosphere that makes customers feel like they've been going there for years even if it's their first visit. The inviting restaurant was established in 1957 by Max and Emma Sommer, who have since retired but their German and Austrian recipes live on and their most famous creations are still for sale. Marring the fine food to one of the wide choice of Austrian and German beers and schnapps wine diners spend hours relaxing in the charming and softly lit wooden interior and the friendly but professional staff.
