Alpine Habitats consists of 18 eco-habitats, scattered amongst 40 acres of bush land only 10 minutes from Jindabyne, 20 minutes from Thredbo and 5 minuntes from Perishers SkiTube.  Surrounded by the Snow Gum Woodlands of the Crackenback Valley, our accommodation is situated in the heart of the NSW Snowy Mountains with the Alpine Mountain regions of the Kosciuszko National Park right at your doorstep for your next skiing, snowboarding or family holiday .

Using unique design and construction techniques; Alpine Habitats provides high quality holiday accommodation, employing energy efficient operations to ensure a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Each Eco Habitat is fully self contained boasting luxury furnishings, in slab heating, Ecosmart fire, drying cupboard, broadband access, in-house movies, DVD player, Webber BBQ's and 2 car spaces.

1 King bed or 2 Single beds including fully equipped kitchens, Ecosmart Open Fire, in-slab heating, DVD, TV, In House Movies, Weber BBQ and Drying Cupboard.

 

2 Bedroom Habitat  
1 King bed in Bedroom 1 and 2 Single beds in Bedroom 2 or 2 Single beds in each Bedroom or 2 King beds in each Bedroom including fully equipped kitchens, Ecosmart Open Fire, in-slab heating, DVD, TV, In House Movies, Weber BBQ and Drying Cupboard.  (Rate based on 4 people, maximum 5, extra person $30pn)

The concept behind Alpine Habitats is to provide luxurious holiday accommodation in the NSW Snowy Mountains whilst ensuring that the environmental impact on the area is kept to a minimum. Alpine Habitats is accredited by Eco Tourism Australia. What we do that's eco friendly:

Worm farm waste management system (with flushing toilets)

Hotel Map

Snowy Mountains Airport (Cooma) is approximately 1 hour from Alpine Habitats and is serviced by Regional Express Airlines. Alternatively Qantas and Virgin Blue fly to Canberra Airport which is approximately 2½ hour drive to Alpine Habitats.

Shuttle buses or hire cars are available year round from Canberra and Cooma airports.

Transborder Express & Summit Coaches offer a year-round bus service from Canberra. Greyhound & Murrays Coaches operate in winter only.

Melbourne
Driving from Melbourne approximately 7 hours: Highways - Pass through Wodonga, Corryong, Khancoban and Thredbo *Chains required in winter in National Parks.

Travel north to Wodonga on Hume Highway
Take the exit to the Murray Valley Highway - Marked "Wodonga/Tallangatta",
Pass through Wodonga and follow the signs "To Tallangatta"
Pass through Corryong
Turn right onto Alpine Way -"Khancoban" turn off
Pass through Khancoban and follow the Alpine Way to Thredbo
Pass through Thredbo
Travel approximately 22 km to Wollondibby Road
Turn right onto Wollondibby Road
Alpine Habitats entrance is situated 130 metres to your left
* Turn right after the Schnapps Distillery

Sydney
Driving from Sydney approximately 5 hours: Freeway

Travel south to Canberra on Hume Highway
South of Goulburn Veer left onto Federal Highway (Canberra turn off)
Follow the signs to Cooma (Monaro Highway), travelling the outskirts of Canberra

Canberra
Driving from Canberra approximately 2 hours: Pass through Michelago, Bredbo, Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne

Travel 168 Km south to Jindabyne on Monaro Highway
Pass through Jindabyne (straight through both roundabouts)
Turn left onto the Alpine Way - "Thredbo" turn off
Travel approximately 9km to Wollondibby Road on Alpine Way
Turn Left onto Wollondibby Road
Alpine Habitats entrance is situated 130 metres to your left
* If you see the Schnapps Distillery on your left then you have just missed the left turn off. If by chance you happen to find yourself at the National Parks entry gate - you have definitely gone past us!
