Alpenhorn is centrally situated 200 metres from the Kosciuszko Express chair, 40 metres from the free village shuttle bus stop and is only a short stroll to the Village Square, shops and facilities.

The guest lounges offer a place to relax with a book or magazine while the new deck offers the perfect afternoon sun trap overlooking the slopes to relive your latest skiing feats.  There is security ski storage and a heated drying room for your ski boots and clothes. To extend your skiing time, luggage storage and guest change facilities are available on your arrival and departure days.

After your days skiing adjourn to Ruby's Bar for a cocktail before going upstairs to dine in The Couloir Restaurant. The menu and the quality of the food are the talk of the town every season and the same high standards will continue, The restaurant is BYO so you can bring your favourite wine. Alternatively, Ruby's bar provides meals for those wanting something lighter or in a hurry to join in Thredbo's night-life.

Accommodation Options

Alpenhorn happily caters for all guests, in a variety of rooms catering for up to five persons. Whether you are a solo traveller, couple, family or special interest group, they have rooms suitable for you.

Alpenhorn's rooms provide a warm and comfortable retreat at the end of the day. All rooms offer ensuite bathrooms, clock radio, TV, in-house video, bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and hair-dryers.

Family rooms usually comprise a Queen/twin plus full size bunks. If you have a large family we would recommend the family unit with separate bedrooms and lounge, or better still a four bunk room for the kids and a separate room for the parents!

Solo travellers can take advantage of singles rates.

All rates are per person, except the family rate which is the room rate and covers 2 adults and 2 children
Extra child rate applies when a child is sharing with 2 adults paying the twin share rate or to the 3rd child in family room.
Cots can be provided free of charge but must be booked in advance - guests should provide own cot linen

Travelling By Car
Car must be left at the Bullock Flat parking area and the ski tube taken to Perisher followed by oversnow transport

* From Sydney: Take the Hume Highway south-west to Goulburn, then the Federal highway south to Canberra or Queanbeyan.

* From Canberra/Queanbeyan: Take the Monaro Highway south to Cooma, then the Snowy Mountains Highway south-west to Jindabyne.

* From Jindabyne: Take the Thredbo Road (Alpine Way) to Thredbo

The nearest commercial airports to Perisher Valley are at Cooma and Canberra.

The Snow Express Shuttle bus meets all flights to and from Snowy Mountains Airport at Cooma. Bookings are essential
